In 2017, we got the chance to talk with Lido Pimienta about the beautiful music she makes with complex, lush sonic landscapes. She also makes music that reflects her strength in her womanhood, in her activism, and in her independence. These two aspects are necessarily intertwined in her work.
In this throwback episode, we feature our interview with Lido in which she shares the social issues that have been influencing her songwriting. She talks about living a hyphenated existence as a Colombian in Canada, celebrity politicians and activists, and more. She also tells us about her passion for beauty and the sublime.
